Speaker and moderator profiles


Joe Seunghyun Cho
CEO at LATTICE80, Co-founder and Chairman at Marvelstone Group
Joe has over 15 years of finance experience in the Asian and U.S markets, having founded a number of fund management companies in Singapore including One Asia Investment Partners, and Leonie Hill Capital, where he concentrated on managing portfolios, implementing quantitative absolute return strategies and risk management.  He has particular expertise in private equity, financial structuring, hedge fund trading and risk management.  Prior to forming Marvelstone Group, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Yozma Ventures and Managing Partner of Yozma Group Asia.  Joe is also a committee member of the Singapore Fintech Association.
Arisa Siong
Head of MINNLAB, Marvelstone Group
Arisa heads Marvelstone Innovation Lab (MINNLAB) and leads the research on ETFs within Marvelstone.  MINNLAB is Marvelstone’s think tank and focuses on financial product development.  Prior to joining Marvelstone, Arisa was an economic consultant with particular expertise in market design, economic regulation, competition and spectrum policy.
Simon Karaban
Head of Index Services, SGX
Simon Karaban joined SGX in March 2013 and has lead the development of the index business with a view to building the footprint of the index business for SGX through the development of indices and index services for pan-Asian investors.
Prior to SGX, Mr Karaban was the Director of Research and Design for S&P Dow Jones Indices based in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for the development of indices across asset classes for the Asia Pacific region. He also worked for Morningstar Australia as a Product Manager for the research data business, developing and commercializing research data solutions for the Australian market.
Mr Karaban graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Economics. He also holds a Masters in Finance from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Luuk Strijers
Head of Products, SGX
Luuk Strijers joined SGX in October 2014. Luuk’s responsibilities include development and management of listed products e.g. ETFs, Structured Warrants and ADRs tradable on SGX. Furthermore Luuk is involved in strategic opportunities to expand the current product shelf for SGX.
Previously Luuk was Head of Business Development and Markets for TOM (The Order Machine) in the Netherlands, a successful new derivatives exchange with a market share of 40-50% of the Dutch market. Luuk also worked for the capital market – corporate finance team within SNS Securities, currently NIBC Markets in Amsterdam.
Luuk holds a Master of Science in Finance from Maastricht University.
  Viktor Östebo
Head of Institutional Trading, Flow Traders
Viktor Östebo joined Flow Traders in 2011 and relocated to its Asia office in Singapore in 2016. He is heading the firms Institutional ETF Trading desk that is responsible for the relations with external counterparties and institutional investors across the region. Before relocating from Amsterdam to Singapore he spent the last five years pricing ETFs of all asset classes and from all issuers to institutional investors of all sizes across Europe.
Flow Traders is one of the largest ETF market makers in the World. More than 125 traders proud themselves with providing liquidity and highly competitive 2-way risk or NAV markets in more than 4000 ETFs globally. On and off exchange the firm covers ETFs from all major issuers, listed on all relevant exchanges and of all asset classes. Flow Traders has frequently been named ETF Market Maker Asia-Pacific and Europe at the Global ETF Awards.
Frank T Troise
Managing Director of Soho Capital and Senior Advisor to Synpulse
Frank is one of Southeast Asia’s leading market strategists, commentators, and thought leaders. He is a frequent co-anchor and market expert on CNBC’s The RunDown with co-hosts Akiko Fujita and Dan Murphy. He is a Senior Advisor to Synpulse an internationally established management consulting company and valued partner of many of the world’s largest financial service providers Troise is a sought after advisor to CEOs for the US’s leading Fintech companies as they expand to Asia, to the region’s largest family offices and institutions as they digitize their offering, and global investment banks. Troise led the digital distribution efforts for one of Europe’s leading structured products firms across its three main business lines in Europe and Asia.
Daniel Liebau
Founder of Lightbulb Capital
Daniel and has a passion for Innovation, Finance and Technology. Before starting Lightbulb Capital, Dan was COO and on the board of HSBC Securities (Singapore) Pte Limited – the entity to provide access to the Singapore Stock Market (SGX) for the Global Equities Business within HSBC. Dan was previously also the IT Head of HSBC’s Investment Bank in Singapore and Japan. His work experience spans 16 years in Investment Banking Technology working for companies like UBS in Germany and the UK, Barclays Capital in Singapore and Tokyo as well as Close Brothers in his hometown Frankfurt.Dan is a mentor for Innovation, Finance & Technology in both Swire’s accelerator program blueprint as well as Singapore based Startupbootcamp Fintech. He has been invited by several Universities (SMU in Singapore, IE Business School in Spain and HKU in Hong Kong) to hold seminars on Innovation in Financial Services. He is also a speaker on Innovation in the public sector in Hong Kong and other conferences.
Sherry Wong
Head of Products, Asia Pacific, Managing Director, UBS
Sherry is responsible for the design and management of UBS’ product suite, as well as executing product strategy in the APAC region. She is also responsible for the development and management of products for the Wholesale client segment globally. Her responsibilities also include providing product communication to all relevant functions and promoting regional connectivity on global and regional product initiatives. Sherry joined UBS in July 2015. Prior to UBS, Sherry headed up regional product development and management teams in Legg Mason and Eastspring Investments in Singapore. Before that, she had regional product responsibilities in Fidelity and Jardine Fleming in Hong Kong. Sherry is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Antoine de Saint Vaulry
Head of ETF & Flow Trading, Asia Pacific, Commerzbank AG
Antoine de Saint Vaulry is Head of ETF and Flow Trading, Asia, based in Hong Kong. Antoine joined Commerzbank in London in 2004 on the securities finance trading desk. In 2010, he relocated to Hong Kong to lead the delta 1 trading team. With a wealth of knowledge and expertise in equity products, Antoine has developed an award winning ETF market making platform. Commerzbank is #1 in Hong Kong for ETF market making. Prior to joining Commerzbank, he was a sales trader for Société Générale in Paris. Antoine is a frequent contributor to the ETF world whether it is speaking at conferences or being quoted in articles around Asia. Antoine received a MSc in Management from ESSEC Business School
Richard Green
Head of Product Management – Asia Pacific, Aberdeen Asset Management
Richard is Head of Product Management, Asia Pac for Aberdeen Asset Management. He has also been a member of the Aberdeen Asset Management PLC Board, Innovation Committee, since its inception in 2014. Starting his career with Aberdeen in 2010 in London, he spent several years in Luxembourg, before moving to Singapore in 2013 to set up the Product Management function for the region. Prior to his career with Aberdeen, Richard worked for international law firm, Eversheds Sutherland. Richard graduated from the University of Exeter, BA (Hons) History and Politics.
Samir Rath
CEO of Blue Pool
Samir Rath is the CEO and founder of Blue Pool, a capital markets technology company. Blue Pool helps buy and sell side business transformation, one algorithm at a time. He started his career as a macroeconomist with the Monetary Authority of Singapore and then helped build the largest algorithmic market making business in Asia for KCG (Getco). During his time in KCG, he traded all the major ETFs at scale listed in the US markets. He has been investing globally in data analytics startups for the last five years and is a published author with his book “No Startup Hipsters” being read in 83 countries.
Will Lawton
Co-founder of Eigencat
Will is an experienced financial services leader in wealth management, private banking and fintech, holding several leading positions across London, New York, Zurich and Singapore.
Will’s experience includes strategy formulation and its implementation, sales and business development leadership, development and delivery of propositions, marketing function leadership and mobilising fintech wealth business transformation programmes. Will has extensive executive Board committee experience. Will’s focus for the past 2 years has been within the Fintech arena leading Eigencat, which is a digital investment platform.
Julien Le Noble
Co-founder of Smartfolios
Julien has over 20 years experience in financial services across the US, Europe and Asia with a track record in delivering on growth strategies as well as external growth transactions in a rapidly evolving market structure. Combining his experience of setting up, expanding and managing international businesses with innovative financial technologies, he brings a unique perspective to Smartfolios which he co-founded in 2016.
